Children in rural and remote locations are expected to receive new books after executives from the Star Printery Limited handed over 17 cartons of exercise books worth $3,000 to the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Lynda Tabuya.
Star Printery Director Vikesh Chauhan says the company is a humbled to partner with the Ministry for Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation to complement the Government’s work towards improving access to education for all Fijian children.
Chauahan says they look forward to working with the Minister and her team in fulfilling the academic needs of the future leaders.
Meanwhile, Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Lynda Tabuya acknowledged the generosity of the printing company, labeling this gesture as one that complements Government’s efforts in ensuring that no Fijian child is left behind.
She says the exercise books will be distributed to children living in remote and rural communities whose parents find it challenging to provide basic school stationery to their children, ensuring that no child is left behind.
The exercise books will be distributed by the Rights Empowerment and Cohesion for Rural Fijians services of the Ministry of Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation in the coming months.
